Medium red, with an amber-greenish rim. Aromas of roasted plum and marzipan, along with some old wood notes. Supple, smooth and rich, but with somewhat odd sweetness. Not old but distinctly exotic... (ST) (7/2002)
We loved this wine when we re-tasted it at the Chateau during our trip in 2000. Haut Bailly has impressed us as one of the top values within classified-growth Bordeaux. Their wines are generally restrained, subtle and elegant, rather than over-extracted and over-the-top.
