Wine Advocate
The 1990 Meyney is still drinking very well, exhibiting an impressively vibrant ruby-black hue, followed by attractive aromas of cherries, red berries, pipe tobacco, pencil shavings and hints of soil. Medium to full-bodied, with a rich core of fruit, tangy acids and powdery tannins that still assert themselves on the finish, it's an old-school Saint-Estèphe that still has plenty of life ahead of it. Int'l Wine Cellar
Deep, saturated, healthy red. Blackcurrant and herbs on the nose; along with the other Cordier wines, this seems distinctly less horsey than in past years. Sweet entry, then good concentration and acidity and strong blackcurrant flavor has the solid structure displayed by so many northern Médocs of this vintage. (ST)

Wine Spectator
A bit rustic, but impressive. Dark garnet color. Lots of currant, prune and cherry on the nose. Full-bodied, with tobacco, cherry, and tar character and big velvety tannins. (JS)

K&L Notes
One of the oldest estates in the Médoc, Château Meyney sits on a hilltop overlooking the Gironde estuary. The wine is deep red, earthy and well-structured.
