Deep ruby-red. Black raspberry, dark chocolate and a whiff of fresh herbs on the nose. Rich and ripe on the palate, with black raspberry and graphite flavors; a bit diffuse but held together by somewhat intrusive acidity. Finishes with slightly drying tannins and notes of leather and smoke. (ST) (5/2000)
Intense, with rangy, sprawling black cherry, plum and wild berry fruit that's in definite need of short-term cellaring to come together. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. (4/2000)
