Wine Enthusiast
Light, crisp and mixable if so desired, this brandy is scented with aromas of golden raisin and honey. On the palate, a flash of vanilla sweetness gives way to notes of oak, tea, allspice, leather and cocoa. (KN)

Vinous
Pierre Ferrand doesn’t use VS, VSOP, or XO on its labels, but this flagship bottling from Grande Champagne has an average age of around 10 years and is about 10% Colombard along with the Ugni Blanc. Golden honey in color, with a floral nose of violet and rose and a bit of fresh-cut flower stem. On the palate, there’s soft plum and apricot, some underlying fruit pastry, and a bit of baking spice at midpalate that carries through the finish. Solid value, compares favorably to most VSOPs, and also works in cocktails. (40% abv)

K&L Notes
Special Price! This cognac is amber, almost golden yellow in color. Its subtle vanilla bouquet also has floral overtones of roses and violets leading into hints of prunes and apricots. As the nose develops, aromas of apple and pear pastry appear. Pierre Ferrand Ambre is superbly balanced on the palate. The aromas found on the bouquet linger on the palate for several minutes. A very subtle, aromatic Grande Champagne Cognac.
