Dubonnet Rouge (1L)

SKU #660042 Wine Enthusiast

Tawny color like an old Burgundy. Bouquet is vinegary and tart, with nuances of pine, underripe grapes and fruit stone. Fresh and clean on palate; thin flavor displays tastes of tart cranberry. Try it with some club soda and a slice of orange. (8/2005)

K&L Notes

The original Dubonnet, the rouge liqueur of wine, herbs and quinine, produced in France and at Heaven Hill in the US, and reportedly a favorite tipple of the late Queen Mother of the United Kingdom.

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
