A great introduction to Bowmore’s single malts, and one of the best 12 year old single malt scotches around. The nose offers tropical fruit, sweet smoke, a hint of brine, new leather, and floral notes. Peaches, honey, vanilla, and more full-on smoke on the rounded palate. Brine, cocoa powder, citrus fruits, and fading woodsmoke in the finish. (GS, Spring 2020)

Perfect for peat-lovers: This burnished gold single malt leads with peat smoke on nose and palate, though it’s laced with mellow hints of honey, ginger and clove sweet heat, finishing long and drying with—you guessed it, plenty of peat. (KN)

The distillery is located in the capital of Islay on the shores of Loch Indaal. Founded in 1779, it is the oldest on this majestic and windswept island. It is one of an ever-decreasing handful of distilleries that still produce their own floor-malted barley. The company, now owned by the Japanese distilling giant Suntory, donated their No.3 warehouse to the community for a swimming pool, with the water heated by the distillation process. Dive headfirst into a nip of this rich and sumptuous whisky. The 12 year old is a classic and should not be passed up at this outstanding price! 40% ABV.
