From fog-shrouded Anderson Valley this shows supreme elegance, balance and poise. Pale straw colour. Outer quote mark The current release of Roederer Estate non-vintage Brut is composed from its customary blend of sixty percent chardonnay and forty percent pinot noir, with only a small percentage of the vins clairs going through malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for two years-plus sur latte and was finished with a dosage of twelve grams per liter. The wine offers up a deep and complex nose of apple, white peach, fresh-baked bread, a complex base of soil tones, a hint of smokiness and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is vibrant, full-bodied and complex, with a superb core of fruit, lovely mineral drive and cut, frothy mousse and a long, well-balanced and quite classy finish. The addition of reserve wines in the blend here give it more complexity than probably any other non-vintage Brut produced in California. This is very good juice. Inner quote mark (9/2021)

Jancis Robinson

There is one base year in the blend and three to seven other vintages for consistency. For this year's bottling the base is 2017 with 12% reserve wine. Fermented in stainless steel at 65 °F. Minimal MLF. 80,000 cases produced. Meyer lemon, lemon verbena, a touch of tarragon, sharp, mineral, green apple, bitter lemon-peel aroma, orange oil, riper palate with ripe citrus and chalk, fine mousse with a bit of spice and toastiness. Quite lovely for an entry-level bottling. 17/20 points. *Quite Good Value* (SCJ) Inner quote mark (11/2021)

K&L Notes

Founded in 1982 as the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking. Roederer Estate's sparkling wines are produced using only grapes from the winery's own vineyards. After tasting the Roeder Estate Anderson Valley Brut Sparkling Wine, it’s hard to believe that it is a domestic sparkling and that it only costs $21.99! What sets this domestic sparkling apart from the rest is how dry it tastes. I always have a problem with how high the dosage levels are in domestic sparkling wines but not with the Roederer Estate Brut. The nose is bright and lively with fresh pear, tangerine and clean bread yeast notes. And while the palate is friendly and accessible with riper pome fruit and clean melon flavors, this domestic brut finishes precise and focused.
