There are few Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignons better than those produced by Dick Arrowood. The outstanding 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an opaque purple color, followed by a rich, black currant-dominated bouquet with background aromas of new oak, earth, and spice. Extremely full-bodied, with admirable fruit purity, and a layered, multi-dimensional personality, this wine is intensely rich, with formidable levels of glycerin and extract. The wine's tannin is largely concealed by the wealth of fruit. (RP) (12/1997)
Saturated ruby-red. Cassis, blueberry, cocoa powder and mint on the nose. Rich, sweet and strong; much more expressive in the middle palate than the above two just-bottled reds from the '95 vintage. Stuffed with fruit, but lively acidity gives the wine shape and grip. Finishes with substantial but even tannins. (ST) (6/1998)
