1994 B.R. Cohn "Olive Hill Estate" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
SKU #300279
Wine Advocate
An impressively saturated dark purple color is followed by a wine with copious quantities of pain grille, vanillin, and black currant fruit. The wine offers medium body and good ripeness on entry, but it quickly closes down to a medium-bodied, tannic, backward, lean style. There is high tannin holding everything tightly in place. Will it unfold? (RP)

Wine Spectator
Dark, immense and firmly tannic, with lots of oak on top of that. Still, there's a lot of rich currant and berry flavor in there to stand up to the wood.

K&L Notes
1994 Cabernets are the stuff of legend, with all the ripe fruit and tannin required for long-term cellaring. This offering is from B.R. Cohn's estate vineyard, where the soil is warmed by underground natural hot springs. This, combined with the area's warm days and nights cooled by gentle coastal breezes, works together to create a unique microclimate, ideal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. Polished and elegant, this wine is something special.
