Founded by Tom of the Gamble Family, this is a phenomenal value coming out of Napa Valley. All grapes from Rutherford and Oakville, showcasing delightful aromas of black plums, blackberries, cassis, menthol, dried thyme, and cocoa. On the palate, bright, lively acidity, toned tannins, with spicy notes of blackcurrant, menthol, nutmeg, and espresso. It's becoming more and more difficult to find quality, well balanced wines of value from Napa, but this Bordeaux blend not only delivers, but exceeded my expectation by a long shot!

The days of sub-$20 Napa Valley Cabs are all but a distant memory. Those that do exist are typically underwhelming to say the least. However, the exceptional deal we have on the 2019 Mill Keeper has renewed my faith that amazing values can still be found in Napa! And not just any part of the valley, we're talking pure Oakville and Rutherford fruit here. Mill Keeper is grown, produced and bottled by Gamble Ranch estate. The Gamble family have some of the very best estate vineyards in all of Napa Valley. Their holdings span Oakville and Rutherford, absolutely prime dirt for Cabernet Sauvignon. So we're talking top quality, estate grown fruit...now let's consider the winemaker Ross Dawkins whose resume includes working at Château Angélus in Saint-Emilion and being the Assistant Winemaker at Pahlmeyer! It just keeps getting better! To be honest, all things considered, this wine is a fantastic value at its typical $30-$35 price point. At our sub-$20 Insider's Advantage price it's unbeatable. Tons of ripe cassis, dark chocolate, plum, blackberry, leather, dusty earth (some real Rutherford character) nicely framed with cedary French oak. Fine grained tannins give excellent definition and length, it's a pretty serious bottle of wine! Juicy acidity brings nice lift to the generous fruit. Very complete and polished. Simply exceptional value for money.
