Made by Jim Beam in Clermont Kentucky the newest addition to the American Single Malt landscape is 5 years old and made from 80% standard malted barley and 20% Golden Pilsner, a special brewers malt. It was aged in bespoke toasted and level 1 char barrels designed to impart the sweetest, maltiest profile within 5 years. Flavors are confectionary, caramel, candied malt, with cereal and vanilla focused notes. Freddie Noe, 8th generation master distiller at Beam says "Clermont Steep will set the bar and show the world what American single malt can be. This is the next thing that's really going to push the boundaries of American whiskey." Bottled at 47% ABV.
