Spicy and detailed, layered with sweet grass and lemon meringue. Shows wonderful dry extract, dense and complex, with terrific midpalate concentration and exceptional length and viscosity. Focused and fragrant, it goes into the deep, bold flavors of the best Washington Sémillon.

The white wines begin with the 2007 Semillon (70%)-Sauvignon (26%) with an additional 4% Muscadelle. The Semillon was barrel-fermented, the Sauvignon tank fermented. Medium straw-colored, it exhibits a fragrant nose of citrus, melon, honey, and mineral. On the palate some tropical flavors make an appearance along with baking spices and herb notes. Very intense, creamy-textured and long.

Pale straw-yellow. High-pitched aromas of grapefruit, lemon and flowers, with musky and resiny nuances adding complexity. Concentrated and tactile, with very good cut to the intense lemon and floral flavors. This has real backbone and chewy persistence. The warm weather in April and May were the original source of the smaller berry size in 2007, noted Caleb Foster, while a heat wave in late June helped to keep the clusters and berries small and gave the wines strong extract owing to the high skin-to-juice ratio.
