The Union des Vignerons des Côtes-du-Rhône is an association of growers that established their cooperative in 1965. Now 2,300 members strong, they cover a range of some of the best Village and Cru appellations in the southern Rhône. The Cellier des Dauphins label was created shortly after the inception of the winery in 1967. It has remained one of France's benchmark Rhône brands for decades. It has seen little exposure, though, outside of the country—until now! The "Réserve" bottling is a blend of the best parcel selections, and is composed of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. With its forward fruit and classic flavor profile, this will become one of your favorite weeknight wines.

The 2018 Cellier des Dauphins was one of our best selling wines of all time. Can the 2019 live up to its promise? It surely does. A touch more richness and intensity reflect the quality of the vintage and the Dauphins is better for it. As with the previous vintage it is made from sourcing fruit from some of the top Village and Cru appellations in the southern Rhone. Brambly red and black fruit flavors intermingle with pepper and spice giving that palate pleasing profile that made its predecessor such a success. Another beautiful textbook Rhone that will continue to be a favorite weeknight wine.

- When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them.

- Legendary wine-producing region in southeast France. Stereotypically speaking, Rhone wines are high in alcohol, and the majority produced is red. The northern Rhone is best known for outstanding 100% Syrah wines from areas such as Cote Rotie and Hermitage, as well as for fabulous white wines from Condrieu (where Viognier is king). In the southern Rhone, look for spicy, full-bodied wines that are blends of Grenache, Syrah, and other varietals coming from appellations such as Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, or Rasteau. Wines labeled as Cote du Rhone or Cotes du Rhone Village (a cut above generic Cotes du Rhone) are frequently found here in the US because they often represent some of the best values on the market.
