K&L Notes
Etienne Baldès planted his first vineyards at Clos Triguedina in 1830. He had the foresight to plant on some of the best terraces in the Lot Valley which helped the estate weather the storms of phylloxera, severe frosts and economic downturns. Generations later, Jean-Luc Baldès and his wife Sabine run the family estate and have elevated it to one of the greats of Cahors. The Malbec du Clos is Jean-Luc's namesake wine. It is 100% Malbec from the young vines grown on the 2nd terrace, which is known for its calcareous and sandy-clay soils. This cuvée sees no oak, giving you a lively and pure expression of Malbec.
