The grand vin is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Laurel Glen Vineyard Estate and it’s a regal, balanced, complete wine from this team that offers beautiful minerality as well as notes of crème de cassis, crushed rocks, violets, and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, incredibly elegant and seamless, it’s not a blockbuster and shines for awesome purity and balance. It’s going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15-20 years.

This classically styled wine has pretty opening aromas of black currant, cherry and berry, with a slight tease of vanilla and dark chocolate. High toned and supple on the palate, the tannins are well integrated and structured, with a good tension of acidity. *Cellar Selection* (VB)

Opaque black core and ruby edges. Star bright. Black, brooding aromatics with spiced black fruits, tobacco leaf, and glittering iron accents. The palate is juicy and mouth-watering with a wash of flavour over the entire palate – spiced black plums and cassis, hints of resinous herbs, cocoa and iron accents. This is a delicious wine that deftly balances mouth-watering flavour with a sense of finesse and restraint. Fine-grained tannin with refreshing acidity and a long finish. I am looking forward to tasting this again after several years in bottle. This 2015 will do well with several years in the cellar. It has the mouth-watering presence to hold up alongside food while also delivering the flavour to please the wine lover who likes Cabernet on its own. 17.5/20 points (ECB)
