2019 Domaine Albert Morot Beaune 1er Cru "Les Aigrots"

SKU #1552969 92 points Wine Enthusiast

Outer quote mark Perfumed notes of dried strawberries and raspberry preserves extend from nose to finish in this robust, almost brawny expression of Beaune. Voluminous and creamy in texture, it’s a concentrated, ripe Pinot Noir accented by hints of wet clay and smoked tea leaves. Held upright by streaks of red-currant acidity and a furry, softly tannic finish, it’s best approached from 2024 to 2030. (AI) Inner quote mark (5/2022)

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound

Outer quote mark Hints of herbal tea and soft earth add breadth to the cool and ultra-fresh mix of red and dark pinot fruit. There is impressive volume and delineation to the overtly stony medium weight flavors that offer fine persistence on the highly refreshing finale. Once again, this would benefit from having better depth, yet the underlying material seems up to the task of developing more. *Outstanding!* Inner quote mark (4/2021)

Spicier than other bottlings of Morot this expression of "Les Aigrots" offers deep dark berry notes of raspberries and black cherries laden with aromatic spice reminiscent of clove and cedar. Very well structured and bright Pinot Noir it will definitely age gracefully for a long time.

This is easily the most fruit-driven of the quartet with racy and enticing aromas of raspberry and fresh strawberry just oozing from the glass. The palate is spry with gorgeous fruit notes, subtle hints of spice and minerals with excellent structure, great length and impeccable balance. A great introduction to the Albert Morot style as well as an example of what amazing values these wines are.
Top Value! Drink from 2022 to 2038
