2020 Dry Creek Vineyard Clarksburg Chenin Blanc
SKU #1551326
Connoisseurs Guide
Redolent of ripe pears and candied limes on first sniff with a light floral note appearing with air, this relatively dry Chenin is a little muted and less rich on the palate than its fairly outgoing aromas predict. It is light to medium in body and a touch soft in balance, and, if arguably just a bit tentative in fruit on the back end, it is, as we have become accustomed to from this reliable producer over the years, a tasty, well-made look at the grape that delivers the goods at a very fair price. *Good Value*

K&L Notes
Dry Creek Vineyard has been making dry, crisp Chenin Blanc since 1972 (did you know that the winery's style was inspired by the Loire?) and continues to be a benchmark producer for this once-ubiquitous varietal wine, in its latter-day sorta-revival. The grapes for this wine come from the Clarksburg AVA, which is east of the San Francisco Bay Area in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta and has been the source of many of the wines that have helped raise the profile of dry Chenin Blanc.
