2008 Maison Louis Latour Meursault 1er Cru "Poruzots"

SKU #1551291 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Outer quote mark Expressive aromas of apple and pear lifted by almond flower. Sweet but lively, with noteworthy energy and considerable personality to its fruit and mineral flavors. I like this style. (ST) Inner quote mark (9/2010)

90 points Wine Spectator

Outer quote mark Supple and fresh, with a touch of spice complementing the apple, grapefruit and wax flavors. Picks up a mineral element on the finish, with a chalky feel. (BS) Inner quote mark (11/2010)

This is a tough wine to beat, a 2007 Meursault at 15 years of age that shows little if any signs of declining. The color is a pale yellow with aromas of fresh squeezed lemons and crushed rock. The palate shimmers with acidity and a firm backbone that reveals layers of complexity, admirable structure and a long finish. This may very well be my favorite of the Louis Latour quartet we currently have in-stock.

This is wonderful example of perfectly aged white Burgundy. Silky and creamy with tamed acidity, lemon curd and almond paste notes and mineral strike on the finish, this Meursault is absolute delight to drink. Pair it with lobster, scallops, branzino or just a simple lemon-ginger chicken and you'll be pleased with the result.
