A richer styled wine (I've compared this cuvée to a Chardonnay from Mark Aubert), the 2020 Novellum has a medium gold hue as well as a rich, powerful bouquet of caramelized lemon, honeyed almonds, candle wax, and toasted bread. Rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured, and balanced, this is another no brainer purchase.

K&L Notes
Winemaker Jean-Marc Lafage has redefined value in the Roussillon. Consistently receiving top accolades from critics, his wines always have some of the highest QPR (quality to price ratio) of any region in the world. After partnering with importer Eric Solomon, they conceived of this gorgeous entry level white from the region. For several vintages now, it has represented one of the best white wine values coming from anywhere in the south of France. The wine is made up of 100% Chardonnay aged a small part in barrel (about 30%) and the remainder in tank on the lees of Viognier from one of Jean-Marc's other cuvées. This vinification allows for a really complex wine of weight and aromatics without the overt oak tones that permeate so many other Chardonnays at this price. (Keith Mabry, K&L French Regional buyer)
