Outer quote mark Made from 100% Grenache (equal parts from Lirac and from Châteauneuf du Pape), the 2018 Vin De France La Creation reveals a more ruby/translucent color as well a beautiful perfume of ripe black cherries, violets, cured meats, spice, and Provençal garrigue. Playing in the more medium-bodied end of the spectrum, it has a seamless, elegant texture, no hard edges, silky tannins, and a great, great finish. This is one hell of a Vin de France. It's a full-bodied, concentrated effort, with bold black cherry fruit, an expansive mouthfeel, silky tannins and a lengthy, faintly herb and licorice-tinged finish. A new wine to the Raymond Usseglio line-up this is a stellar value and a wonderful take on Grenache. Loaded with succulent red fruits, spice and remarkable depth this is a beautiful red that outduels almost all Cotes-du-Rhone and rivals qualitatively many Chateauneuf-du-Pape's at twice the price!

- When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. - Legendary wine-producing region in southeast France. Stereotypically speaking, Rhone wines are high in alcohol, and the majority produced is red. The northern Rhone is best known for outstanding 100% Syrah wines from areas such as Cote Rotie and Hermitage, as well as for fabulous white wines from Condrieu (where Viognier is king). In the southern Rhone, look for spicy, full-bodied wines that are blends of Grenache, Syrah, and other varietals coming from appellations such as Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, or Rasteau. Wines labeled as Cote du Rhone or Cotes du Rhone Village (a cut above generic Cotes du Rhone) are frequently found here in the US because they often represent some of the best values on the market.
