The 2019 Cairanne is brilliant stuff, and I'd certainly be happy to drink a bottle. Lots of black raspberry and jammy blueberries as well as candied orange, flowers, and peppery herbs give way to a medium to full-bodied, rounded, sexy Cairanne with beautiful purity as well as length. It's going to drink nicely right out of the gate yet keep for 7-8 years.

K&L Notes
Romain Roche took over the family property from his father Marcel in 2009. Romain is known for expressing the typicity of Cairanne and has become one of the key producers synonymous with the region. The Cairanne is a blend of Grenache (planted in the 1950s and 60s), Syrah (planted in the '70s) and Carignan (planted in the '50s). The wine is fermented in concrete tanks and aged in a mix of concrete tanks and oak barrels. We are delighted to add him to our family of Direct Imports this past year. The 2019 is 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. The Grenache is aged in concrete tanks for 8 to 10 months; the Syrah is aged in barrels and demi-muids for the same.
