Long before I was the Domestic Buyer at K&L, the Edge Cabernet was one of my favorite "Staff Picks" on the sales floor. For years, this wine has consistently over-delivered and has been a go-to recommendation for folks seeking an everyday drinker that doesn't break the bank, or a crowd pleaser for parties. Thanks to a near perfect vintage in 2018, this is the best Edge release yet. Sourced from some of the most famous vineyards in Alexander Valley (I'll let you consider what those might be...), this wine delivers powerful, densely fruited Cabernet with blackberry, ripe plum, hints of mocha, exotic oak spice, and scorched earth. The fruit is plush and polished, but a solid core of grippy varietal tannin gives nice backbone and definition to the finish. There's lots of real Cabernet varietal character here that is not often found in wines of this price point. It's a classy bottle of wine that's very hard to beat at this price.
Top Value! Drink from 2021 to 2030
