2020 Dragonette Santa Ynez Valley Grenache - Graciano Rosé

SKU #1527661

Brothers John and Steve Dragonette and close friend Brandon Sparks-Gillis founded Dragonette Cellars in 2005 after having worked together at a wine shop in Los Angeles. The 2020 rosé was fermented in a combination of roughly one third each stainless steel, neutral barrels of various sizes (228L, 400L, 500L) and concrete. After complete dryness the wine was transferred to neutral oak barrels and aged for 5 months on the lees. Winery tasting notes: "The wine shows expressive bright red fruits, (strawberries and raspberries) along with watermelon and green apple jolly rancher, with citrus peel and super bright acidity."

Our friends at Dragonette have crafted another noteworthy rosé. It's in a style that's slightly more contemplative than your poolside thirst-quencher. Not surprised as Brandon takes the production of rosé as seriously as seriously as anything else. Theres more body and viscosity here which tells me that it'll pair best with food. Classic rose petal and young wild strawberries on the nose. Followed by orange zest and cranberries on the palate. The finish is as long and refreshing as a southern California ocean breeze on a warm day.
