2019 Mas Karolina Maury Grenat Vin Doux Naturel

Mas Karolina is the project of Caroline Bonville, cousin of Olivier Bonville, who is proprietor of one of our favorite Champagne houses, Franck Bonville. Caroline originally hails from Bordeaux where much of her family still resides. Looking for her own property, she settled in the village of Maury located in the Roussillon. There, her restrained sensibilities are making some of the most pristine, clean and balanced wines in the region. This Maury is made in the classic fortified style much like the French equivalent of a ruby styled port. Rich and full of brambly fruit with a touch of sweetness, it is one of the best pairings you can find for blue-veined cheeses or chocolate. (Organic Conversion)
