This under-the-radar wine comes from one single vineyard directly adjacent to the Gironde river just north of St. Estephe. The gravelly clay soils are planted to 48% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine has soft black currant, sour cherry fruit with notes of pencil shavings and graphite and a hint of vanilla. The tannins are dry, and along with medium plus acidity make the finish satisfying, especially with food.
