Outer quote mark A gorgeous aroma like roses and blackberries meets richly concentrated and ripe black-fruit flavors in this full-bodied, luxuriously textured wine. One of the finest old vine Zinfandels you likely to find. This is what happens when you combine a true master of the variety with one of the oldest plantings in the state. Winemaker Bill Easton has decades of experience up here in the Sierra foothills, but those decades pale in comparison to this vineyard's 156 years! The Rinaldi vineyard is one of the true gems of the region. The tiny amount of fruit it produces is decadently rich and concentrated with powerful, ripe black and red fruits, scorched earth, exotic spice and floral tones. The palate is full bodied and plush with mouth filling fruit and fine silky tannin. Despite is richness and weight, the wine has wonderful purity and balance with enough acidity to remain fresh and lifted. A truly memorable bottle of Zin that all fans of the varietal should have in their cellar.
