The Twr Te Sauvignon Blanc is their flagship wine that showcases the unique textbook style of the Marlborough. This has a moderate nose of green apples, key lime, heightened crisp aromatics with notes of grapefruit, orangelo fruit, fresh but not intense cut grass. When I think of the best food companion for this wine pairing, Peruvian ceviche or Peruvian layered potato salad come to mind, those flavors would match and accentuate the herbaceous qualities of this wine combined with the ingredients in those dishes.

The 2020 Te Whare Ra Sauvignon Blanc is unequivocally the best Sauvignon Blanc we carry at K&L. While most people love the bright, tropical Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs that are widely available, the quality produced by TWR is on a completely different level. Starting with Anna and Jason Flowerday, the wife-and-husband team behind the wines. Jason is the most in-demand viticulturist in Marlborough and Anna is one of the region's most respected winemakers. Together they farm their tiny, historic vineyard just outside the Marlborough village of Renwick. Second, the wines at TWR are boutique and hand-crafted. Made in quantities 1/20th the size of most Marlborough produces, they craft their exquisite wines with an attention to detail you can only find in small-scale production. The 2020 vintage is one of my favorite recent vintages of this New Zealand staple. Elegantly styled, with notes of oyster shell, passionfruit, and lime zest with a gorgeously lush texture from delicate ageing sur lee. With brilliant mouth-watering acidity and balance that is sheer perfection, this will redefine your perspective on Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

This year's Sauvignon Blanc from TWR is as delicious as ever and will definitely be one of my summer staples. Its nose is expressive with passion fruit, green apple and lime zest aromas that translate onto the palate. It has racy acidity, is dry and super refreshing. This is fantastic on its own but would also go great with salads, poultry and seafood dishes.
