Decanter
From 0.27 ha located at the closest possible point of Folatières to Chevalier-Montrachet. This is a bit less open on the nose, but there is a lot of substance here. Impressive weight and length, and a creamy texture that is nevertheless very fine. The aromas open on the palate, including chalk, ripe pear and floral notes, with a well-integrated oak spice that adds yet another layer of depth to this exquisite wine. Drinking Window 2021 - 2029. Vinous
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières En La Richards 1er Cru, which comes from a single plot of 50-year-old vines, has one of the most precise and delineated bouquets among Sauzet’s Premier Crus with a heightened sense of mineralité. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, very saline in the mouth with a spicy aftertaste. I find this quite mercurial, constantly changing in the glass, making this one of Sauzet’s most intriguing offerings this vintage. (NM)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Sauzet's 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières En la Richarde mingles notes of crisp yellow apple and pear with hints of white flowers, honeycomb and hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's textural and generous, with chalky structuring extract and ripe acids, concluding with a perfumed finish. In 2018, this was one of the more dramatic, sun-kissed whites in the Sauzet portfolio, and that's the case once again in 2019. (WK)

K&L Notes
92-95pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Pale lemon, reductive nose, interesting aromatic notes begin to come out, quite tight. I am taking my time over this and being rewarded. The fruit has stayed engagingly fresh, with just the right acidity behind. A linear rather than a fleshy Folatières. A few liquorice notes, and perhaps just a little warmth at the finish. Tasted: September 2020."
