The "So Fresh" series of wines from Stolpman represent a simpler wine built for timeless moments. The grapes are harvested earlier in order to create a lighter mouthfeel with higher acidity. The wines are bottled earlier to capture the purity of fruit and freshness with no added sulpher. The wine is a blend of Orange Muscat 54%, Pinot Gris 26%, and Mourvedre 20%. The wine is bottled unfiltered and no sulphur is added. 920 cases produced.

Our friends Peter and Jessica Stolpman never stop innovating and the results are always fascinating. This bottling is a tribute to the long history of "orange" wines; which simply means whites wines that spent time on their skins. Through the process the wines picks up color (sometimes orange) and texture. This bottle captures your sensation for springtime with a field of flowers, herbs, and an orchard of orange trees. There's plenty of rose petals on the nose and lovely hints of orange marmalade on the palate. The wine has texture as well which gives it the backbone to stand up to a wide variety of foods, even heartier dishes. Count me a fan.

- Santa Maria and Santa Ynez make up the two AVAs of Santa Barbara County, an area known for its natural beauty and temperate climate. The best grape-growing areas, however, are located on the very coastal reaches of these two appellations, and are cooled by ever-present fog and ocean breezes (it is even cooler and foggier here than Carneros!). As expected, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir thrive while the more inland zones lay claim to Bordeaux varietals and some Rhône blends.
