The 2019 Aulerde Riesling GG is enormously chalky and flinty on the rich and spicy yet pure, refreshing, deep and fruity nose. Silky textured, fresh and elegant on the palate, this is a complex, structured, very elegant and juicy but linear and persistently mineral dry Riesling with remarkable purity and tension. The tension and grip of the 2019s offer impressive proof that Wittmann more and more manages to make the Aulerde a real Grosses Gewächs. However, the distance to the exceptional Westhofener 1G is smaller than to the Morstein GG. (SG) (8/2020)
