K&L Notes

This is the Breggo Cellars property founded by Doug and Ana Stewart in 2000. This property came out of the gate strong with their well-reviewed Pinot Noirs. Food & Wine magazine named Breggo the "Best New Winery of 2008" and they went on to become the highest rated winery in Mendocino County history. Eventually they sold the brand and leased the winery to the new owners. The lease ended in 2014 and they resumed making wine on the estate under their new name "Lichen Estate".

During a lengthy review of a prominent supplier's portfolio there was one wine that really caught our attention. There was one wine we kept coming back to again and again. I knew we were on to something when I was informed that this was the original Breggo Estate. I was a fan of Breggo Wines since their inception two decades ago. It was great to see them back and that the wines still have that amazing pedigree. The best of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir possess a quiet confidence. The area is somewhat of a backwater compared to lower Sonoma County but what matters most is the vine age and perfect soils. This is a stunning, stylish, sleek, and refined Pinot Noir. This wine is a standout at any price, but our offer makes this a strong call-to-action.
