Intense and pure cherry, black currant, floral, spice and a hint of charred oak mark this enticing red. It's vibrant, balanced and settles down by the lingering aftertaste of fruit and oak spice. Firms up too, showing its potential to age. Best from 2024 through 2040. (BS)

Allen Meadows - Burghound
Discreet wood influence frames the more restrained and slightly cooler aromas of the ripe essence of red and dark pinot fruit where background nuances of earth, forest floor and game can be round. The velvety broad-shouldered flavors are rich to the point of opulence while also flashing excellent power on the dusty, serious and beautifully long finish that is even more structured. This robust effort appears to possess fine upside development potential.

The 2018 Corton Grand Cru comes from the Les Combes climat toward the bottom of the slope. It has a floral bouquet with pressed rose petal aromas flanking the raspberry, strawberry and vanilla aromas. The palate is clean and precise on the entry, displaying good acidity, and quite linear in style, with a strict, tensile finish that is very promising. One to watch once in bottle. (NM)

K&L Notes
88-91pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "One plot in Les Combes, below the wall of Domaine Senard’s Clos des Meix. Dense purple, rather a rich style to the red fruit, a bit on the foursquare side and showing some heat here. Firm at the finish. If this refines as it finishes its ageing in barrel, it may merit more. Tasted: December 2019."
