Vinous
Dark red. Suave, spice-accented aromas of raspberry preserves, pungent flowers, incense and cola, along with a hint of smoky minerality that builds with air. Plush and expansive on the palate, offering deeply concentrated red and blue fruit, allspice, vanilla and floral pastille flavors that are given spine by a core of zesty acidity. Shows superb definition and floral lift on a strikingly long, penetrating finish shaped by silky, slow-mounting tannins. (JR)

Cool, pure and notably spicy aromas are comprised by notes of freshly sliced plum, dark cherry, briar and an attractive array of spice elements. The sleek, delicious and velvety medium-bodied flavors possess good if not remarkable concentration while delivering very fine length on the moderately structured and youthfully austere finale. This is a wine that is clearly constructed to age and one that will definitely need at least a few years and should easily reward a decade of cellaring, perhaps even a bit more.

The reserve, compiled with grapes from all three estate vineyards, seems to have a higher percentage of new oak, showing plenty of sweet spice in the nose and on the palate. Blueberry and cherry flavors, along with highlights of malted chocolate, gather into a concentrated core. The finish is a long, lingering jaunt with a touch of spice cake.

Elegant and precise, with expressive black cherry and orange zest flavors and silky, layered blueberry, black tea and spice notes that gain momentum toward refined tannins.
