Ample wood influence is present on the cool and pure essence of baked plum liqueur, earth and plenty of floral and spice nuances. There is excellent size, weight and power to the large-scaled but not ponderous flavors that are also shaped by very firm tannins on the beautifully long if slightly warm finale. This is very promising and should ultimately prove to be very long-lived.

A firm, linear red with ripe strawberries and raspberries and some hazelnuts and citrus rind. It’s medium-to full-bodied with lightly chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Tight at the end. Drink after 2022.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Le Corton Grand Cru has turned out very nicely in bottle, offering up a deep and complex bouquet of cassis, wild berries, grilled meats, black truffle, blood orange and sweet forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, deep and muscular, it's layered and concentrated, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a long, sapid finish. While this is a powerful, structured wine, it's also very refined, and this is one 2018 that will offer a broad drinking window. (WK)

Vinous
The 2018 Le Corton Grand Cru comes from an east-facing vineyard on clayey soils over limestone at 300m altitude. It has a fresh raspberry and cranberry bouquet with touches of rose petal and orange peel. The palate offers a pleasant bitter cherry note on the entry, which leads to a finely structured, gently grippy midpalate and a commendable, nicely proportioned finish that is fresh and quite long. This is certainly worth seeking out. (NM)

Naughty heavy bottle. Focused, dusty and earthy cranberry fruit. Precise and chiselled palate, with lovely fluidity and a long, floral finish. Likely to be ready earlier, but to give lots of pleasure. Elegant burgundy. 17.5/20 points. (TJ)

K&L Notes
92-95 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Clear bright fresh purple. Light clay, red coloured on top of hard Corton limestone. Lively deep plums and some dark raspberry, very slinky and seductive with some black fruit on the palate, but retains a lively limestone feel to it. Very persistent. Tasted: November 2019."
