Fragrant, this white delivers forthcoming aromas of seashore, hazelnut, peach and white flowers. It's creamy and vibrant, picking up flavors of vanilla, clove, butter and pastry as it unfolds on the palate. Terrific equilibrium and length. (BS)

The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has an impressive bouquet of mineral-rich citrus fruit, smoke, honeysuckle and jasmine aromas, complex and alluring. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, with plenty of tangerine and grapefruit notes, but it is the mineralité and tension that really elevate this Grand Cru. For once, this might outperform the La Cabotte. (NM)

A dense, layered young white with apples, pears, light creme brulee and lemon curd. It’s tight and reserved, but there is some magic coming out of the glass. Subtle strength.

The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru reveals attractive aromas of citrus oil, mandarin and pear, framed by subtle hints of fresh pastry, cut flowers and nutmeg. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with a broad attack that segues into a ripe core of nicely concentrated fruit, underpinned by lively acids. This bottling hails from the three terraces on the hillside above Bouchard's La Cabotte, their bottling from the latter—which adjoins Montrachet itself—being more muscular and powerful whereas this cuvée is finer-boned and more ethereal. There is still some residual SO2 that partially masks the otherwise attractively airy and refined aromas of spiced pear, citrus and light smoke. There is excellent detail and punch to the relatively large-scaled flavors that possess better mid-palate density, all wrapped in a more complex if not necessarily longer finale. I very much like the texture, and this should be approachable relatively early in the context of what is typical for Chevalier.

K&L Notes
93-96 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "A blend of the four terraces, still in barrel for 3 of them. A little pretty oak flavour and some white flowers. Excellent intensity, this fine electric thread which runs all the way through. Medium plus body behind. Long."
