2015 Domaine Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru

SKU #1495016 96 points Decanter

Outer quote mark Overtly oaky nose, powerful but not overbearing, with exquisite red fruits. Medium-bodied on the palate, less dense and chewy than than other grand crus here, but polished and poised with admirable acidity, airiness, and drive. Very long and elegant. (SB) Inner quote mark (12/2016)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Outer quote mark Jadot's 2015 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is stunningly good in the 2015 vintage, bursting from the glass with a primary bouquet of candied red cherry, plum, rose petal, coniferous forest floor and a hint of the black truffle to come, judiciously framed by new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and deep, with wonderful concentration and depth, its generous core of ripe fruit underpinned by bright, racy acids. This still need time to come together—15 years, ideally—but its potential is immense. (WK) Inner quote mark (4/2018)

96 points Wine Spectator

Outer quote mark Featuring expressive aromas and flavors of cherry, raspberry, currant, mineral, clove and toasty spice, this red is solidly built and extremely fresh, with fine balance and a terrific aftertaste. There's a sense of purity and elegance that will take some time to reveal. *Collectible* (BS) Inner quote mark (3/2018)

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound

Outer quote mark Moderate amounts of wood and menthol mark the wonderfully spicy if notably ripe nose that combines notes of red berry fruit liqueur, a panoply of spices and a whisper of mocha. The highly seductive and concentrated flavors possess an opulent mid-palate mouth feel that is borderline unctuous, all wrapped in a gorgeously long, complex and well-balanced finish. While the sheer density of material should enable this to be approached after only a decade or so, if you wish to see it at its peak, this too is pretty much a "buy and forget you own it" wine. Inner quote mark (4/2018)

95 points Vinous

Outer quote mark Raspberry, crushed stone, licorice and spices on the precise nose; less extravagantly aromatic than the Chapelle but pure and complex. Sweeter and plusher as well as a bit darker and more medicinal on entry than the subtler Chapelle, then rich, broad and powerful but lively in the middle palate, conveying an impression of medicinal reserve that's buffered by the thickness of the vintage. Finishes with palate-dusting noble tannins and outstanding unflagging persistence. I suspect that the Chapelle will make for a sexier drink over the next 10 to 12 years but this beauty may surpass it in the long run. (ST) 95+ Inner quote mark (1/2018)
