2018 Pierre Ménard "Le Clos de Mailles" Anjou Blanc

SKU #1493005

95-97 points Chris Kissack, Winedoctor.com: "Two components of the final blend tasted. Barrel #1: From the 25-year old vines, representing about 20% of the final blend. Intense, expressive, laden with stone and schist. Beautifully styled, fresh, polished, tense, but carrying plum, peach and orange fruits. Minerally, still showing some residual carbon dioxide. Long and persistent. Barrel #2: A blended barrel, wine from all three parcels, representing about 80% of the final blend. A more reticent nose, more subtle, but smoky and minerally. Great energy on the palate, more than the nose suggests. Tense, pure, complete (despite being incomplete!), and fabulously long with minerally energy. Great potential. As usual with component barrel tasting I have added a note of uncertainty to my score." (05/2019)
