Apart from the estate vineyards from the south to the north of McLaren Vale, Coriole also has a number of different species of fig trees that are carefully tended, the figs sold. The autosuggestion is too strong to ignore, and the bouquet of this mourvedre/grenache/shiraz blend has a ripe fig overtone. The palate keeps its focus where it should, with a suite of sultry earthy notes ex the mourvedre, lightened and brightened by the other varieties. (8/2020)
This has a deliciously mellow feel with ripe dark berries and plums, laced with earthy, savory notes of wood, anise and iodine. The palate is bold and has some dark-fruit punch, amid the smooth, ripe-plum flavors. A blend of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvedre. (5/2020)
