Outer quote mark Ripe, with tropical fruit, honey and butterscotch flavors, this white picks up oak spice on the finish. A touch hollow midpalate, yet pulls it together nicely. (BS) Inner quote mark (2/2009)

This one comes across a bit more high toned in the acidity category. Citrus fruits of lively pineapple and starfruit with the butterscotch backend. Yellow peach and cracked almond linger on the palate. This is a perfect Meursault to enjoy with a dish of scallops and asparagus in a light butter sauce. Not overly weighty and still youthful enough to lay down for more few more years.

The most expensive of the quintet of offerings from Louis Latour the Perrieres looks like 14 carat gold in the glass. Fresh herbs, citrus and hints of honey slowly unfold while the palate is a forceful blend of orchard fruits, spice, hazelnuts, brioche and a touch of crushed stone. Perrieres is often considered to be Meursault's greatest vineyard and this wine is a great argument for that opinion.
