The 2018 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru requires a little coaxing from the glass, but is well worth the effort, revealing beautifully defined malic aromas, mixed with wet limestone and fumé scents that blossom after a couple of minutes. The palate is extremely well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through the green apple and fresh pear notes. Quite linear and taut, it reveals fine depth toward the finish, though it needs just a tad more persistence on the aftertaste. This should evolve into a top-rank En Remilly. (NM) (1/2020)
A slightly riper though still agreeably fresh nose offers up notes of ever-so-mildly exotic white orchard fruit along with the hallmark citrus nuances. The racy, intense and beautifully well-detailed flavors exude both sappy dry extract and minerality on the saline-infused finish where a hint of wood gradually emerges. (6/2020)
90-93pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "A light lemon touch to the colour, with a discreet nose. The class of this wine shows in the second half of the palate where the apple notes take on greater weight. Good clean refined acidity and only the smallest reductive hint. Certainly a wine of fine tension. Tasted: November 2019."
