James Suckling
This takes a savory stance and bends in style more towards the Soter estate wines, in terms of having a more reserved style. Dark cherries and spicy oak here with forest wood and a blueberry to red-cherry core of flavor with attractively structured tannins. Drink or hold.

Vinous
Glistening magenta. Highly perfumed aromas of juicy red and dark fruits, incense and candied rose, along with an exotic spice nuance and a touch of smoky minerality. Palate-caressing black raspberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors show sharp delineation and deepen steadily as the wine opens up. Smoothly plays richness off energy and finishes very long and appealingly sweet, with smooth tannins lending shape and grip. (JR)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir Reserve opens with pretty aromas of red currants, crushed black cherries, raspberry and strawberry preserves with notes of garrigue, peppercorn, bergamot and sweet spices. It’s medium-bodied with classically styled, earth-laced fruits, gently chalky and with great freshness on the long finish. (EB)

Wine Enthusiast
The reserve is a year older than the ‘Classic' release, and remains rather tight even after substantial aeration. A mix of black fruits, black olive and coffee components, it was aged in 36% new French oak, yielding a stiff finish, with a streak of dark chocolate. (PG)

K&L Notes
Winery notes: The Willamette Valley is Oregon's most recognized appellation for cool climate varietal wines, and it is in the Northern part of this region where the finest vineyards are found, an epicenter of quality we refer to as the “North Valley”. While Pinot Noir is the principal focus for what we craft, we also make small amounts of racy Chardonnay, and a dry Rose.
