(60% cabernet sauvignon, 27% syrah, 8% malbec and 5% petite sirah): Bright ruby-red. Dark aromas of blackberry, black cherry and licorice are complicated by a whiff of gamey syrah and an emerging violet element. Densely packed, pliant and chewy, with a mouthfilling texture to its flavors of red berries, spices, tobacco leaf, pepper and dried flowers. This very supple blend finishes with sweet dusty tannins and very good length. Should offer early appeal, but give it a good aeration if you plan to drink it in the next 6 to 12 months. (ST) (5/2014)
