Often one of my favourite wines in La Chablisienne's extensive range, this comes from old vine parcels with an average age of 50 years. Lightly wooded, it has focussed flavours of citrus, grapefruit and chalk. Drinking Window 2019 - 2024. (TA)

The 2017 Chablis Les Venerables is superb. Aromatically expansive and layered, the 2017 boasts terrific depth and complexity, with real persistence and character at this level. All the best qualities of this important Chablis vintage come through in the 2017, a wine that hits all the right notes with both style and substance. (AG)

Allen Meadows - Burghound
A shy nose grudgingly speaks of smoky matchstick, green fruit, white peach and just enough Chablis character to be persuasive. There is fine intensity to the delicious and succulent but relatively powerful flavors that appear to offer very fine development potential. Worth a look.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
La Chablisienne's most serious village wine is the 2017 Chablis Les Vénérables Vieilles Vignes, a cuvée produced from vines averaging 50 years of age. It is only released once it has a bit of bottle age: the 2015 is currently being commercialized. It's more reserved, unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus oil and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, textural and layered, with excellent concentration and tension, concluding with a precise and penetrating finish. (WK)

Beautifully exotic citrus, peach and tropical fruit make a striking impression on the nose here. The palate has a very fresh and juicy, open-knit, fleshy feel with plenty of ripe-fruit flavor. Drink now.
