K&L Notes

Rocca di Montegrossi produces one of the best Rosatos on the market, year in and year out. Made from primarily Sangiovese, this is full bodied yet crisp, with bright cherry fruit aromas and flavors accented by earth spice. Solidly built, with a mineral-tinged finish ilaced with hints of savory herb, this is a more structured style of rose and the perfect accompaniment to a variety of dishes featuring tomato-based sauces or braises.

From Rocca di Montegrossi and simply put, their best effort yet! This robust rosato has a light salmon pink color and fascinating aromas of ripe wild mountain strawberries, and I found a hint of mandarin zest. It's fresh and lingering on the palate with a very dry finish.

Being both an Italian rosato and Sangiovese enthusiast, this is a first-class winner in my books. There is a pretty profile of fresh strawberries, tart cherry and a hint of orange on the palate, towards the finish. This has a ton of personality and flavor while remaining crisp and dry. Wonderful with wild mushrooms over creamy polenta and a fresh arugula salad.
