Walter Glatzer is just outside of Vienna about 40 minutes south in the region known as Carnuntum. Carnuntum is one of the funny regions that aren't famous for wines but there is always someone who supersedes the level of the region, and Walter Glatzer is one of those. Chocolate ripeness, spicy, pure and singularly brilliant fruit that just sings. We're not sure if Walter is a tenor or a bass but his wines can cover quite a few octaves. Drinkable, forward, perfect for grilled lamb chops or even if you like a little bigger red with your salmon.
