John House has come out with another splendid Gewurztraminer from Gerber Vineyard; its 40-year-old vines predate much of the pinot in the Willamette. This vintage is gewurz in a streamlined form, with dry litchi and lemon scents and a lean, sunny energy that keeps the wine elegant and lithe. (PJC) (8/2020)
Sourced from the same vineyard as in previous vintages, but with a stylistic change to a dry, much leaner wine. It’s terrifically complex, textured and lightly salty, a mix of different fermentation vessels showcasing old vines and native yeasts. It finishes dry and long, with spice and mineral highlights.
