This is cool-climate Shiraz at its best. Grampians one of only a handful of cool-climate grape growing regions in Australia, where higher elevations along with cool onshore flow from Prince Phillip Bay helps Shiraz keep vibrant acidity and balanced alcohol. The result is a condensed, structured red with silky tannin and stunning aromatics. The nose displays rosemary, charcoal, cassis, and red plum. At a first sip, there is a bright, persistent acid line that carries through the palate, bringing with it elevating notes of red cherry, blackberry, and cranberry on the palate. This Shiraz is delightfully fresh, high-toned, and focused. An exceptional example of cool-climate Shiraz and a perfect example of the new-wave of wines that are shaking up Australia.

A stunning, fleshy Shiraz with such an expressive bouquet! Aromas range from bright and awake (raspberries, blackberries, lilac, snappy black pepper) to dark and broody (cigar smoke, dust, wet earth, stewed dark fruit). There is some presence of oak that really rounds it out. The full mouthfeel is rich of similar flavors as its aromas, and is witness to a sparkling acidity that gives it a youthful kick. We opened this about 45 minutes prior to drinking, and thought it had opened up well in that time. Great to the last drop!

First off, let me be frank in that I usually don't enjoy Shiraz flavors, BUT, I highly enjoyed this one -- and would be excited to share this with friends at a dinner party. I love the floral and dark stone fruit + blue fruit aromas, and also the peppery, light tobacco and light smoky notes. Herbaceous and dank flavors come to mind as the wine lingers on your palate. Truly a great deal for this amazing price -- definitely punches above the $19.99 offering. So my advice, pick up a few bottles and stock that cellar while you can! I'll be sipping this bottle all night long. Cheers!

Opening with excellent notes of bramble berries and pepper, this has a great classic Shiraz profile. There's a nice mix of fresh blueberries and raspberry jam on the nose that alerts one to the tart profile of the wine. I enjoy the soft floral notes and how these blend with the spice character. On the palate there's a little earthy tobacco profile that folds into the mixed berries and pepper flavors. The finish has a nice fresh snap to it brought on by the combo of the spice and cranberry tartness, making me want to keep coming back for more. Pair this with grilled meats and goat cheese salad.
