Outer quote mark The 2018 Pinot Noir Integrato is a barrel selection aged ten months in 20% new French oak. It's pale to medium ruby with lovely scents of rose petals, strawberry and raspberry preserves, rhubarb, pomegranate and crushed red and black cherries with accents of loam, peppercorn and prosciutto. Medium-bodied, it explodes with red berries flavors and oodles of earthy accents. It has a grainy texture and excellent freshness, finishing long and very flavorful. Yes! After having more than two dozen different types of Pinot Noir from the Santa Cruz mountains, I must say that the AVA as a whole is a region to reckon with. The Integrato from Sante Arcangeli is no exception. Small production Pinot at a fine price point. This is Willams Selyem quality or even Merry Edwards quality Pinot but without the bravado that usually comes with Sonoma County Pinots. Bright, elegant, fantastic notes of pomegranate... This is easily one of my favorite Pinots around the 30 dollar price range and it's not a Pinot you should miss out on.

Light on the color but wait to take a sip and be beautifully surprise by how powerful the flavors are. There are arrays of harmony in every layer. Gorgeous bright pomegranate and cranberries, a gentle touch of earthiness and a hint of Cocoa powder in the finish. All around a wonderful delightful Pinot Noir that is elegant and clean for a great price.

John Benedetti produces a half dozen different wines sourced primarily from the Corralitos region of the Santa Cruz mountains. His focus is on creating both nuanced and approachable Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. He grows some of his fruit and sources the rest from select coastal mountain vineyards. This is a micro-small production winery with most releases not exceeding 500 cases. The "Integrato" represents a best barrels from his several different parcels. Like the best Pinot Noir, the wine is light on its feet with rather pretty floral aromatics. The wine is nearly translucent but don't be fooled by the color. There's plenty of intensity here. The wine leans more towards flowers and wood spice with a tinge of strawberry and a hint of tart cranberry. I quite like this wine and it is represents great value at this price.
