The 2017 Colheita is roughly a 40/30 blend of Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon with the rest Aragonez, all aged for six months in tulip-shaped cement tanks (no wood). It comes in at 14% alcohol. This is an organic release. Dominated by black fruits, this is lush in texture and fruit forward, with enough structure to avoid seeming too jammy. It's the fruit you'll focus on, though. The black cherry nuances are delectable. There's enough structure to let it age a bit. It's a summer red and picnic wine, but it has a little extra distinction this year. It can hold reasonably well—there's a little bite on the finish now—but you probably won't be rewarded if you keep it more than a few years. (MS) (8/2019)
A silky smooth wine, soft on the tannins and rich on the black fruits, this is ripe and ready to drink. Produced from organically grown grapes, the wine is packed with fruitiness and balanced juicy acidity. Drink now. (RV) (12/2019)
