The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a south-facing vineyard in the Northern Napa Valley. It has a dense ruby/purple color, slightly more structure and density than The Sisters, and while it’s better, The Sisters 2012 is so strong an effort that it might be the smarter one in terms of the differences in price. Nevertheless, the Jones Family 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has plenty of cassis, blueberry, floral notes, full-bodied opulence, excellent purity, texture and length. (RP)

Vinous
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a bit tighter and more mineral-driven than the Sisters. Cloves, rose petals, crushed rocks and leather meld into the super-expressive finish. Tighter spacing is used here to give the fruit more shading and therefore greater protection against excess heat, something that is always a concern in this warm Calistoga site. (AG)

Lots of mint and blackcurrant aromas follow through to a full body with soft and silky tannins, ripe fruit and a dark-chocolate aftertaste. A delicious and rich red.
